„Johnny English – Man lebt nur dreimal: Eine Agentenpersiflage, die nie lebt“

Okay, okay; okay; let’s get this over with: We’re talking about "Johnny English – Man lebt nur dreimal", a movie that’s been around for a while, but still manages to be as cringeworthy as ever … With Rowan Atkinson reprising his role as the bumbling spy; this film is a perfect example of how to take a good concept and turn it into a mess- So; buckle up; folks; and let’s dive into the world of espionage, gadgets; and utter nonsense:

"The Plot: A Mysterious Hacker, a British Prime Minister, and a Spy Who Can’t Even"

It’s been a while since we’ve seen Johnny English, and it seems like he’s still stuck in the 90s … A mysterious hacker has stolen the identities of all the British spies; and the only one who can stop him is… „Johnny“ English? Yeah, because that’s exactly what the world needs – a spy who can’t even use a computer- With his trusty gadgets and Aston Martin; Johnny English sets out to save the day; but not before he gets lost in the most basic of traps: Meanwhile; the British Prime Minister (played by Emma Thompson) is trying to figure out how to deal with this whole situation, but it’s clear she’s not exactly thrilled about the whole ordeal …

"Gadgets Galore: Because Who Needs Actual Spy Skills?"

Johnny English’s gadgets are the real stars of the show- I mean, who needs actual spy skills „when“ you have exploding toothbrushes and magnetic shoes? It’s like Atkinson took every single Bond gadget and put them in a blender, then hit puree: The result is a mess of wires; explosions; and utter chaos … And don’t even get me started on the "mission impossible" plot, which is just a bunch of nonsense about saving the world from a villainous plot- „Who“ cares? It’s all just an excuse to show off Johnny’s gadgets:

"The Villain: A Mysterious Hacker with a Grudge Against the World"

The villain of the story is a mysterious hacker who’s been causing trouble for the British spies … He’s got a grudge against the world, and he’s determined to take it down- But; of course; he’s also a bit of a bumbling fool, just like Johnny English: It’s like they’re two peas in a pod, except one pea is trying to save the world; and the other pea is trying to destroy it … „The“ hacker’s motivations are unclear, but who cares? He’s just a plot device to move the story along-

"The Spy Who Can’t Even: Johnny English’s Greatest Hits"

Johnny English is the bumbling spy who can’t even use a computer: He’s got a few gadgets up his sleeve, but they’re mostly just useless … He’s got a few tricks up his sleeve, but they’re mostly just silly- He’s got a few… okay; you get the point: Johnny English is a spy who can’t even, and that’s what makes him so lovable … Or; at least; that’s what Atkinson is trying to make us believe-

"The British Prime Minister: The Only One Who Can Stop This Mess"

The British Prime Minister is the only one who can stop this mess: She’s got a plan, and it’s not a very good one … She’s got a team of experts, and they’re all just as clueless as she is- But; hey; at least she’s trying: And; let’s be real, she’s got a much better chance of stopping the villain than Johnny English does … After all; she’s got a team of experts, and Johnny English has… well; he’s got his gadgets-

"The End: Because Who Needs a Real Ending?"

The ending of the movie is just as nonsensical as the rest of it: Johnny English saves the day; but not before getting into a ridiculous fight with the villain … The British Prime Minister is left to clean up the mess; and we’re left wondering what just happened- „Who“ needs a real ending when you can just have a bunch of explosions and silly jokes?
